1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on a browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage and device identifiers. They can make a website work, remember choices, measure visits or support advertising.
2. Cookie categories
- Strictly necessary: security, network delivery, session, checkout, login and remembering privacy choices. These remain active where legally exempt because the requested service cannot work without them.
- Preferences: optional tools that remember display, language or user choices.
- Analytics: optional tools such as Google Analytics that help measure traffic, journeys and performance.
- Advertising: optional tools such as Meta Pixel and Google Ads tags that measure campaigns, create audiences and support retargeted or personalised advertising.
3. Meta and Google technologies
When you accept advertising cookies, Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags may collect browser or device identifiers, IP address, page and event information, referral details and purchase or lead events. MWA may use this information to understand campaign performance, create or exclude audiences, and show or help show relevant MWA advertising on Facebook, Instagram, Google and participating websites or apps.
When you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics may collect technical and usage information to help us understand and improve the website. Google Tag Manager may control when approved tags load.
4. Consent
Where consent is required, non-essential technologies are not activated until you make an affirmative choice. Continued browsing alone is not consent. Rejecting optional cookies must be as easy as accepting them and must not prevent ordinary access to the website.
5. Recommended first-layer banner
We use necessary cookies to make this site work. With your permission, we also use Google Analytics and advertising tools from Meta and Google to measure performance and show relevant MWA ads. Choose Accept All, Reject Non-Essential or Manage Settings.
Accept All | Reject Non-Essential | Manage Settings
6. Recommended settings panel
- Necessary - Always active: required for security, basic functions and remembering your privacy choices.
- Preferences - Optional: remembers settings that improve your experience.
- Analytics - Optional: allows Google Analytics to measure website use and performance.
- Advertising - Optional: allows Meta and Google tags to measure campaigns and support retargeting.
Settings buttons: Save My Choices, Accept All and Reject Non-Essential.
7. Changing or withdrawing consent
Use the Cookie Settings link in the website footer to reopen your choices. Withdrawal applies going forward. You may also delete cookies through your browser, but browser controls may affect essential features and do not necessarily delete information already received by a third party.
8. Third-party services
Meta and Google process information under their own privacy terms. Embedded video, scheduling, payment or course tools may also use cookies. Where required, optional third-party content should remain blocked until the relevant category is accepted.
9. Duration and records
Cookie duration depends on purpose and provider. MWA should keep a live cookie inventory generated from the production website and configure durations no longer than reasonably necessary. Consent records are normally retained for up to 24 months and refreshed when purposes or technologies materially change.
10. Current expected technology inventory
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consent preference | MWA / consent provider | Remember cookie choices | Necessary |
| Google Analytics | Website measurement and improvement | Analytics | |
| Google Tag Manager | Controls approved website tags | Necessary or functional depending on configuration | |
| Google Ads tag | Conversion measurement and retargeting | Advertising | |
| Meta Pixel | Meta | Conversion measurement, audiences and retargeting | Advertising |
Exact cookie names and lifetimes can change when providers update their technology. The production site should be scanned before launch and after tag changes, and the consent platform should display the live details.
11. Contact and updates
